Kathmandu: The death toll from monsoon-induced disasters, including floods, landslides, and inundations across Nepal, has reached 108. This toll accounts for casualties from June 10 to July 14. The fatalities are distributed across several provinces: Kathmandu Valley recorded 2 deaths, Koshi Province 19 deaths, Madhesh Province 5 deaths, Bagmati Province 9 deaths, Gandaki Province 38 deaths, Lumbini Province 23 deaths, Karnali Province 4 deaths, and Sudurpaschim Province 8 deaths.

In addition to the fatalities, 119 people have been injured across the provinces, with Gandaki and Koshi provinces experiencing the highest number of injuries. Specifically, Kathmandu Valley reported 8 injuries, Koshi Province 31 injuries, Madhesh Province 9 injuries, Bagmati Province 7 injuries, Gandaki Province 28 injuries, Lumbini Province 9 injuries, Karnali Province 16 injuries, and Sudurpaschim Province 11 injuries.

Nepal Police have reported rescuing 53 individuals affected by the floods and landslides, while six people remain missing. The monsoon disasters have also led to significant property and livestock losses. A total of 182 houses were inundated, 203 houses, 75 sheds, and 41 bridges were damaged, along with one school and two government offices. The disasters also resulted in the loss of 516 cattle, and 3,552 families have been displaced from their homes.

The authorities continue to monitor the situation and provide assistance to those affected by the monsoon-induced disasters.
